Welcome to Music at Walhampton

In our thriving and vibrant department we strive to foster a love of music through listening, playing, composing and performing.  Every pupil is given the opportunity to develop their musical potential in a supportive and fun environment.  Pupil engagement and enjoyment is central to our philosophy which is reflected in our diverse and challenging curriculum that encourages a deep understanding and appreciation of music from all genres and cultures.

Staffing

Miss Wendy Henderson - Director of Music

Miss Henderson leads the Music Department and manages the Peripatetic Specialist Teachers.  Her teaching responsibilities include Year 4 - 8 curriculum music.  Miss Henderson is the conductor of the school choirs, including Pre-Prep Choir, Juniors Choir, Middles Choir and the award-winning Chapel Choir.  She also oversees the school music ensembles. 

Dr Nicola Hargreave - Music Teacher, Accompanist and Piano Teacher

Nicola teaches music to years 5, 7, and 8, as well as accompanying the school choirs.  With a wealth of musical knowledge and experience, she also directs the school Orchestra and is responsible for the instrumental lesson timetables.
